Beach Access: New Lock is Installed

There is a new lock installed at the beach access - if you don't have your new key be sure to pick one up from your street rep or contact Lisa for a new one!  The cost this year is $40 (cash or cheque made out to Cedarvale Community Association) which includes the cost of the new key, land taxes and insurance, and will help fund the landscaping our beach so desperately needs.  Lisa's contact can be found in the side bar ---->

The gate has been updated too - it should be able to open and close properly in the winter snows now, thanks Roger!

Landscaping Update:

We have a meeting with the Lake Simcoe Regional Conservation Authority next week to see if there is any funding assistance available to our community to update our beachfront.  We'll be sure to keep you updated with any details!  Stayed tuned for further fundraising later this summer.

See our landscaping plans below:

CCA BBQ & Key Drive a success!

Thanks to all who helped out with making the summer BBQ and Key Drive a success! We had a cozy turnout with some new faces in the neighbourhood.

A special thank you to Kelly and Russel Albright for The Meat Merchant BBQ and special discounts on the delicious burgers and hot dogs!
Thanks to Brian Relf and Lee Hanney on Rosehill for lawn maintenance.
Thanks to Will Yan on Cedarvale who donated the bean toss game.
Thanks to Carrie and Roger Hiemstra on Rosehill for the new lock and keys, and drawing up the Beach Improvement Plan.
Thanks to Shawn O'Connor on Elmvale who will be updating out CCA property gate sign.

Our Beach Improvement Plan had a positive reception from our members, and a few suggestions were added as well. Our next steps will be to meet with the Lake Simcoe Regional Conservation Authority and see if any funds are available to our community to assist with the landscaping. A meeting with the LSRCA will take place later this summer - we'll be sure to keep you posted with any updates!

BEACH ACCESS LOCK UPDATE

We will be changing the lock on the beach access gate by the end of June - make sure you have your new key! The cost of the key is $40, which includes the cost of property insurance, property taxes and landscaping maintenance. For a new key please contact Lisa Gallagher White at tel:905-640-8192 or by email at "lisagwhite @ rogers . com". Lisa will be accepting cash or cheques payable to Cedarvale Community Association.
Please help spread the word with your neighbours!

Get Ready For Summer!

Thanks to all who made it out to the Spring Clean this year! Click here to view our photo album!
With the access swept and trimmed we can look forward to some big events this summer:

Saturday June 6, 4pm: Summer BBQ Potluck & Key Drive

Get ready for summer! The annual BBQ Potluck will also double as a key drive this year. Bring a chair, your beverages and a tasty treat to share!

A new lock will be placed on the lake access gate, and the gate will be fixed following the Summer BBQ. We will be collecting $40 from each household at the BBQ.

The fee will cover this year's property tax and insurance for the lake access, as well as the cost for the new key.
If you can't make it to the BBQ, please contact either Lisa Gallagher (43 Rosehill Dr) or Carrie McAlister (12 Rosehill Dr or email "carrie.mcalister @ gmail.com") for other arrangements.

Our lake access needs a makeover. We will be debuting landscaping plans for the access at the BBQ for discussion and comment. We hope to start improvement this summer - have a look at the plans and let us know what you think!

Calling for Engaged Volunteers!

Are you looking to be more involved in your community? Interested in representing your neighbours? We're looking for street representatives to help with Cedarvale Community Association's outreach. A street rep will help out with communicating with the neighbourhood about our upcoming events, and gathering information, ideas and opinions on improvements to our lake access. Contact Lisa or Carrie for more information!
